Apple's Megahertz Myth RTFA “At Macworld New York, Apple Senior VP of Hardware Jon Rubinstein detailed why the clock speed of a computer isn’t an accurate way to compare system performance.” This statement is true: a processor’s clock speed does not necessarily equal performance. There are a lot of other factors that come into the performance equation, but Apple seems to be switching the story now that they have embraced Intel chips for their new Macs.
