Luckily my job didn't make this list of the top 10 overrated careers by U.S. News & World Report.  Most of the jobs are ones that sound easy, glamorous, or high-paying. Top 10 Overrated Careers

    I can agree and disagree with some of careers that you just listed. As an advertising executive, I can say that it is probably “overrated.” We do have fun though, but work our buns off. It’s not as glamorous as many imagine it is. It’s a lot of hard work, with long hours and not enough pay. But there are a lot of cool things that come of it too.

    I disagree with teachers being overrated. I think that they are some of the most under-appreciated people in this country. Where would any of us be without teachers?

    I don’t think this list is meant to say teachers are overrated. I think it is meant to say that the job is underappreciated and underpaid, which makes it overrated as a career option. For instance, it is more work than most would imagine, since the popular belief is that teachers only need to work from 8am-3pm, with a lunch break, for 8 months of the year.
